THE DOWNS GAA NOTES
The club shop is open on Friday evenings. Club gear is available for sale in an outdoor capacity from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. each Friday evening. Please see our social media pages for samples of available gear or view the brochure on our website @ www.thedownsgaa.com. Brochures are also being circulated by coaches within their groups so keep an eye out for those. Some sale items will be available as well as other more recent club gear. Teas/coffee are available in the Cuppa hut which is open for your convenience on Friday evenings from 6.30pm – 7.30pm during underage training. The wonderful volunteers on duty will also help with the Collection of Bingo books and purchase of lotto tickets at the same location. Community spirit is alive and well in this location of the grounds and you can catch up with all the local events over a cup of tea/coffee while the kids are training.
Training continues for all adult and underage groups. We look forward to the next lifting of restrictions on June 7th where games will be permitted. Indoor facilities must remain closed.
Underage training continues every Friday night. Don’t worry if you haven’t already made it back yet. We will be here every Friday for the foreseeable future. You will then be re-directed to our brand new Clubforce account which has all our membership details and links.

U 15 Final 2020
The U15 Division 2 Shield Final for 2020 is due to take place on Monday June 14th. The Downs opposition in this final will be Western Gaels. A home game for Western Gaels on this occasion. Further details will be circulated when confirmed.
The Downs GAA Club will be completing all their correspondence to its members using the App Clubforce for the coming year. Please download the App in advance of our return. You can add both The Downs GAA and The Downs LGFC on the same App to receive details regarding training/club events and news.
Ladies Club LGFA
Two Fundamental Coaching Courses have been arranged for The Downs Ladies Club Coaches. As it is an LGFA requirement we encourage all coaches to complete this course. Spaces on the course are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The first course will be Saturday 29th May 2021 and Saturday 5th June 2021 from 7-9pm. If you are interested in attending this course, please contact any member of the Ladies Committee.

We were joined by large numbers of regular and new players for our 9th week of online bingo. Our popular weekly game format, with a prize fund of €2,200 on offer, is providing a great hour’s entertainment and fun for all. Congratulations to the 21 prize winners on the night, who enjoyed sharing the €1900 prize fund. Thomas (Owen) Loran was this week’s €600 jackpot winner in our Big Game 5. Owen is a regular player was delighted with his win.
