Registration

Registration for 2024 is now live. All registration can be paid with the click of a button. All you have to do is visit our website www.thedownsgaa.com and click membership. The Downs Ladies registration can be paid via Foireann. Please click Ladies Football to access. Please do not hesitate to contact any committee member for further instruction.

If you are a prospective member or new to the area and are interested in joining The Downs GAA club, please don’t hesitate to contact us or visit our Facebook Page for further information.

Ireland Lights Up/Couch to 5K

Ireland Lights up continues every Thursday at 7.30 p.m. In conjunction with Ireland Lights Up and our Healthy Clubs Initiative we are also doing a Couch to 5k in the lead up to the Valentines Dash on February 11th. This initiative will be led by local experienced runner Críona Reid every Monday night at 7.30 p.m. All abilities welcome.

Valentines Fun Walk/Run

The Downs Ladies are hosting their 5k/10k Valentines dash again this year on February 11th starting at 11 a.m. Why not get signed up before the event. Registration is now live at the following link: http://eventmaster.ie/event/Zv80SMWcZY

The Downs Dragons

The Downs Dragons nursery programme continues next Saturday in the clubhouse Feb 3rd at 11 a.m. for more fun and games. This has been a hugely successful initiative for the club. Well done to all involved. New members always welcome.

Club Calendar 2024

Our Club Calendar for 2024 is now available. We extend our gratitude to all our sponsors for their continued generosity and support in this venture. Calendars can be picked up in Mullingar Pewter, A&J Newsagents Coralstown and Egan’s Rathconnell Service Station while stocks last. Calendars are €3 each or 2 for €5.

Congratulations

Congratulations are in order for three of our underage players Aiden Doyle, Fionn Kelly and Ciarán Casserly winning the Leinster final with Coláiste Mhuire in a nail-biting final against Knockbeg last week. We are immensely proud of their achievements.

Sympathy

The Downs GAA Club extends their sincere sympathy to Joe Martyn and extended family on his recent bereavements. His father Christy (Thomas) Martyn late of Ahgloragh, Tuam Co. Galway and his uncle John James JJ Higgins late of Graigueachullaire, Dunmore, Co. Galway.

We send our condolences to the family of Cyril Bardon late of Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath on his sad passing.

Sincere sympathy is also offered to the family of Patrick McCarthy late of Moorland, Marlinstown, Mullingar.

Bingo continues every Friday night at 8.30 p.m. All new members welcome.

The Clubhouse bar is open on Fridays and Saturdays nights.
