Round 3 ACFL Fixtures 2024

Tuesday March 5th: Division 5 The Downs V Tubberclair (Away) 8 p.m. (Round 2)

Friday March 8th: Division 1 The Downs V Athlone (Home) 8pm

Saturday March 9th: Division 4 The Downs V Caulry (Away) 2 p.m.

Tuesday March 12th: Division 5 The Downs V Ballinagore (Home) 8 p.m.

ACFL Round 2 Results

The scheduled Division 1 game V Milltowpass was postponed until further notice due to a bereavement in the Milltownpass club. We send our condolences to the Milltownpass community and the family of Tom Gorman who was the club’s founding member and club president. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

The Division 4 made it two wins from two with a seven-point win over Garrycastle at home on Sunday afternoon. Goals in either half from Tadhg Nolan and Shane Murtagh were ultimately the difference between the two sides on a final score-line of The Downs 2-11 Garrycastle 0-10.

The Division 5 team play away on Tuesday night against Tubberclair in their second round clash.

Ireland Lights Up/Couch to 5K

Ireland Lights up continues every Thursday at 7.30 p.m. in conjunction with our Healthy Clubs Initiative.

Underage Training Resumes

Underage training resumed this week for all age groups. The nursery/U8’s and U10s will train on Saturday afternoons from 3.30p.m. to 4.30 p.m. on 2nd /9th/16th/23rd/30th March. Training will then return to the usual Friday nights 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. from April 6th. All new members welcome.

Thank You

The committee would like to thank all club members that kindly gave up their time last Saturday morning in a clean-up of the grounds. Many hands make light work. Well done to all.

Club Shop

The Club shop will be open next Saturday afternoon during underage training for all your essentials for the year ahead.
