The Division 4 side earned a share of the spoils against Rosemount at home on Tuesday evening on a score-line of The Downs 3-09 Rosemount 0-18, while the Division 5 side lost out to Killucan away from home on Friday evening on a final score of Killucan 0-18 The Downs 1-04. 

The Division 1 team plagued by injuries succumbed to a lively Moate side last Sunday morning in a sun-drenched Molloy Park. Leading by 4points at the break on a score-line of 0-08 to 0-04, it was Moate who emerged the hungrier in the second half out-scoring their opponents in the second half. Final score Moate 2-12 The Downs 0-12.  

The U14 Black squad earned themselves a good win over Athlone on Wednesday evening at home. They now play St. Paul’s Delvin next Friday night in the last round of the league. Best of luck to all. 

The U16’s unfortunately lost out to Moate in Moate on Monday evening. Final score Moate 3-10 The Downs 2-09. They play Killucan in the next round at home on Saturday evening. 

The Senior Ladies Division 2 team were away from home on Sunday morning away to Caulry. The girls put in a determined performance to take all of the points on offer. Final score The Downs 1-11 Caulry 1-03.

The U16 girls were also away to Caulry on Monday evening in an evenly contested battle. The girls unfortunately came out on the wrong side of the contest on a score-line of The Downs 5-06 Caulry 5-09. 

The Downs GAA Club extends their deepest condolences to Athlone GAA and the Sheeran family on the sad passing of Conal Sheeran earlier this week.

Na Dúnta G4M&O are back in action every Wednesday night. Anyone from the area looking for a bit of fun as well as a bit of exercise are all welcome. This programme has been a huge success for the club. Please contact Martha on 0871427400 for any further inquiries.
