THE DOWNS GAA NOTES

Colm (Rowley) Murray Memorial Day

Na Dúnta were honoured to take part in Sunday’s Inaugural Colm Murray Gaelic Games Festival organised by Coralstown Kinnegad GFC. The special day was dedicated to celebrating the life and legacy of Colm "Rowley" Murray through the sports he loved most – football and hurling.
The Downs brought along u12 and u14 boys and u12 & U13 girls for some great games of football. Well done to Coralstown-Kinnegad on organising this fantastic day, a wonderful tribute to Colm.

Dylan Quirke Foundation Heart Screening

We were delighted here in The Downs to welcome the Dylan Quirke Foundation to The Downs for cardiac screening of our U16/U14 boys and girls. Due to the hard work of Sharon Crowley, the foundation attended The Downs on Tuesday June 24th to complete screening of our young athletes. A superb initiative and much appreciated by everyone here on The Downs. Thanks to Sharon for organising.

Symathy

The Downs GAA Club would like to offer their sympathy Martin & Martina Smyth & extended family on the sad passing of Martina’s sister Kate Hynes, late of Cullionbeg, Mullingar.

U8 Boys

On Saturday morning 21 of our U8 athletes took to the field to take on Shandonagh and St. Lomans. Our lads put in a massive performance in hot and chaotic conditions. It was great to see them throwing the ball around so well. Well done to all.
