All Ireland Ticket Draw

Why not be in with a chance to win 2 tickets to the All-Ireland football finals. Tickets can be purchased on the following link:  https://naduntagaa.clubzap.com/categories/fundraising/products or from any committee member. Draw will take place on Friday 25th July at 10.30 pm

U20 Championship

The U20’s were very unlucky to be on the wrong side of a 2-13 to 2-11 defeat last Tuesday against Killucan in the first round of the Division 2 championship. Ahead at half time by a point, the lads couldn’t hold on for the win despite a battling performance.

U8 and U10 Blitz

Our U8 and U10 footballers were in action again on Saturday morning last in Milltown GAA. The boys did very well to play three games in the searing heat. A great exhibition of football by all the young stars yet again. Well done to all involved.

LGFA Underage results

Our U14 girls fielded 2 teams on Thursday evening against Goldsmiths despite being short many of our regulars. The Division 1 side were overcome by a strong Goldsmiths side while the Division 4 team were victorious. Well done to all involved – not an easy feat to field two teams in the Summer months.

Well done to our U16 girls who had a fine display against Shandonagh last Tuesday evening at home in the first round of the championship. The girls worked extremely hard for the hour producing a strong and consistent performance to earn themselves a win.

Congratulations/Hard Luck

Congratulations to Annie MacDonald and the Westmeath U16 team on reaching the All-Ireland C Championship Final having defeated Leitrim in convincing fashion last Wednesday evening. They will face Waterford in the final.

Commiserations to Lucy Power and Francesca Walshe on their heart breaking defeat to Tyrone in the Intermediate All-Ireland final after extra time on Sunday. We couldn’t be prouder of both representatives from The Downs GAA.
