Men’s Round 2 League Results

On Friday evening the Division 1 team faced Shandonagh in their second league game of the season. An evenly contested first half saw The Downs just about ahead at the half-time break. The black and ambers were the team to kick on in the second half with some well worked scores to get back to winning ways on a score-line of 0-18 to 1-08. Next up for Lar Wall’s charges is Tyrellspass next Sunday morning.

On Saturday afternoon, the Division 3 team suffered a heavy defeat against St. Malachys at home. Next up for this group is away to Mullingar Shamrocks next Saturday.

Finally, on Sunday morning the Division 4 team were home to Milltownpass. The lads came away with a share of the spoils in an evenly matched game. Final score was 1-10 a-piece. There is no fixture for Division 4 next weekend.

Fixtures for the weekend March 3rd are as follows:

Saturday March 4th: Division 3 The Downs V Mullingar Shamrocks (Away) 4pm

Sunday March 5th: Division 1 The Downs V Tyrellspass (Away) 11.30 am

Registration

Registration for 2023 is now live. All registration can be paid with the click of a button. All you have to do is visit our website www.thedownsgaa.com and click membership.

If you are a prospective member or new to the area and are interested in joining The Downs GAA club, please note that we have a registration day next Saturday during training from 3 to 4 here at the club. Please don’t hesitate to contact us or visit our Facebook Page for further information. New members are always welcome – Many thanks to all that helped distribute our flyers and Anne-marie Corroon, Ed Quinlan for organising.

Underage Training Resumes

Underage training resumes this Saturday March 4th for all age-groups from nursery up to U12’s for boys and girls. If your child is a current player, you will receive a message from the relevant coach with further details. Training will revert to Friday evenings in April.
