Underage Results
The minor team completed their group stages with a win against a strong Mullingar Shamrocks side. Final score The Downs 2-20 Mullingar Shamrocks 2-14. The lads have topped the group and now have a semi-final to look forward to in four weeks’ time.
The U16 squad have also qualified for the semi-final of their championship with a win over Coralstown-Kinnegad on Monday evening last. Final score The Downs 3-09 Coralstown-Kinneegad 1-06. Semi-final will be in four weeks’ time against the same opposition Coralstown/Kinnegad with details to be confirmed.
Our wonderful U10 squad were in Cusack Park this week for the Super Go Games blitz. A brilliant experience for the lads with each player getting to experience playing in the county grounds.
LGFA Results
Both U14 girls’ teams put in great performances on Thursday evening last overcoming St. Lomans in both fixtures. The Division 5 team won on a score-line of 1-05 to 1-04 while the Division 1 team won on a score-line of The Downs7-09 St. Lomans 3-12
The U16 girls went under to a very strong Mullingar Shamrocks team with Mullingar showing their strength in the final quarter. Final score The Downs 3-05 Mullingar Shamrocks 7-08
Sympathy
The Downs GAA offers their condolences to the family of Sheila Lyster and the St. Mary’s Rochfortbridge club on Sheila’s passing this week. Sheila’s name is synonymous with Ladies football in Westmeath and she will be sadly missed.

Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others
Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others continues every Wed eve at 8pm. Newcomers always welcome. Na Dúnta Gaelic 4 mothers & other's takes place every Wednesday (back middle pitch).
