Valentine’s Run in Aid of The Downs Ladies LGFA

Our annual Valentine’s Run will take place on Feb 15th kicking off at 11 am with all proceeds going to The Downs Ladies LGFA. Chipped timing for 5k and 10k races. Overall and category prizes on the day with refreshments for all after in the clubhouse. If you don’t fancy running all walkers are welcome also. Entry is now open at a cost of €20. Our Couch to 5k training programme continues every Monday!! A 6 week training plan with the aim of completing our annual 5k run on February 15th. Run, jog, walk or whatever your goal is why not try for free with coach Críona Reid. Start time is 7.30 p.m at The Downs GAA Club. All abilities and levels catered for.

The Downs Dragons were back in action. Many thanks to all the volunteers for making it such a great success. The Dragons are completing a nursery programme in the hall for all children aged 3-6 every Friday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. This will be an introduction to football in a fun, family friendly environment. All new members welcome.  

The Downs GAA would like to extend their sincere sympathy to senior player Cian McCourt and the extended McCourt family on the sad passing of his grandfather John Connaughton late of Barrettstown House, Dysart, Co. Westmeath.
