Congratulations

Many congratulations to Colaiste Mhuire’s senior team on their historic and splendid win over Ulster Champions Abbey CBS, Newry in the Hogan Cup semi-final last Saturday. If ever there was a lesson in resilience it was evident on Saturday afternoon in Abbottstown. The team looked dead and buried on a number of occasions, however they dug deep, never surrendering. We were overjoyed to see our own clubman Pádraig Monaghan core the all-important goal to put the nail in the Ulstermen’s coffin sending the Mullingar side into an All-Ireland final in Croke Park on St. Patrick’s Day. We were also fantastically represented by Michael Moloney, Eoin Mullin, Cian Loughlin, Conor Cleary, Aaron Connaire and Eoin Daly. We wish our own lads and the rest of the Coláiste Mhuire team and management the very best of luck in the final. The whole of Westmeath are behind you.

Luke Loughlin

We also congratulate our senior footballer Luke Loughlin on his appearance on the Tommy Tiernan show last weekend. Luke has shared his story with great dignity and honesty. We are immensely proud of Luke who advocates for people with addiction and we wish him every best wish with his continued recovery.
