The Division 1 team secured their third win in the league with a victory over Killucan away from home on Thursday evening last. Despite a slow start, the lads came out on top on a score-line of 3-12 to 3-05.

The Division 3 side went down to Ballymore away from home on Sunday morning. However, we were delighted to see Eoin Mullin making his adult debut and chipping in with two points. Well done Eoin.

Huge congratulations to both our participants on being crowned Leinster champions last Saturday in Carnew Wicklow. Our wonderful set dancers and soloist Grace Ní Domhnaill gave epic performances to earn themselves a place in the All-Ireland final on April 25th in Castlebar. Táimid thar a bheith bródúil!!

Both our U16 panels were in action this week. Both squads put in impressive performances to earn all the points on offer last Monday night. The Division 4 team played against St. Paul’s Delvin while the Division 1 team took on Millmore Gaels.

Our minor team played Shandonagh in their opening league game on Saturday evening. Shandonagh came out victorious in this occasion.

Our U14’s kick started their league campaign with a comprehensive win over Tubberclair on Sunday evening at home. Well done too all involved.

Last Friday was a wonderful occasion for our underage members when we had a visit from the Downs representatives on the Coláiste Mhuire All-Ireland winning team. The lads brought the Br. Bosco and the Hogan Cup to visit. A wonderful evening of celebration was had by all.

Next Saturday night April 4th, we look forward to fantastic music by Tom Tuite in the clubhouse. There will also be a raffle for Easter eggs on the night.

Congratulations to senior ladies’ manager Trevor Fitzpatrick on his recent marriage to Kathryn Smith. Wishing you both many years of health and happiness.

We also congratulate our 5 representatives Conor Cleary, Aaron Connaire, Finn Brennan, Josh Murtagh and Eoghan Daly on the Westmeath minor panel this week. All 5 players contributed to their win over Longford on a score-line of 3-15 to 0-12

Many thanks to our Irish Language Officer Deirdre O’Connell who organised practice sessions for club members sitting Leaving Cert oral exams. This has been a very welcome initiative, long may it continue. Míle buíochas Deirdre. 

We extend our sincere condolences to Louise Rowan and extended family on the death of her father Jimmy Andrews, Mullingar and formerly Delvin.

We also send our sympathy to Pearly Tanner on the death of her partner Bedelia Frances (Fran) Tehan. Pearly was the FAS supervisor in The Downs for many years, instrumental in setting up Bingo in The Downs.
