ACFL Fixtures Round 5:

The Division 5 team secured a victory over in round 4 at home on Tuesday evening last. Halt-time score was 2-08 to 1-07 with the boys pushing on in the second half finishing up at The Downs 3-16 CFCW 2-11. Team on the night was: Alan Colgan, Thomas Kearns Scott Murtagh, Oran Donohoe Kieran Serry, Cian McCourt. Daniel Keena, Taylor Daly, Dylan Hunt. Eoin Mullin. Tadgh Nolan. Jack Carroll. Adam Connelly. Shane Carroll. Subs Mikey Walsh. Cormac Mullen. Sean Colgan. Kevin Smullen. 

The Division 4 side were up against it last Saturday afternoon with a very young side facing Killucan’s first team. Killucan were far too strong on the day coming out comprehensive winners.

The Division 1 team however were in fine fettle on Sunday morning when they faced St. Mary’s Rochfortbridge. Aisling McLoughlin left with a tally of 4-01, 2 points a-piece from Lucy Power and Beth McGuire and a point from Britney McNamee all contributing to the girls] second win in the league. Speedy recovery to Lauren English who sustained an injury. 

We had 2 U12 teams in action this week at home vs Multy GAA and Shamrocks. The Downs fielded 2 teams all putting in fine performances. Well done too all involved.

The Downs GAA made a presentation to our club referees Mickey Dan Murtagh, Sean Carroll and Grace MacDonald this week in appreciation of their hard work and wishing them well for the year ahead.
